HOW WE SEE CHILDREN
At Kompass, we respect children’s potential for growth.
We see them as co-constructors of knowledge and natural researchers.
Children thrive as social collaborators, each bringing unique experiences.
They express understanding through play, art, and movement.
Every child has the right to be heard and engaged.
We create curiosity-sparking environments and follow their lead.
At Kompass, we value children’s discoveries and questions.
LEARNING ENVIRONMENT
At KOMPASS, children feel welcome, inspired, and supported every day. Our daily rhythms, meaningful rituals, and nurturing structures combine with thoughtfully designed spaces that differ from traditional schools. Warm, friendly, and full of light, our environments are intentionally inviting and stimulating. This cozy atmosphere helps children feel at home while fostering curiosity and creativity.
LANGUAGE IMMERSION
At KOMPASS, language acquisition happens through everyday interactions in three languages, rather than traditional classes. Our trilingual teachers, like parents, help children learn the meaning of words and expressions, fostering a natural feel for the languages. Native speakers on our team also convey cultural insights.
TRILINGUALISM
At KOMPASS, children are immersed in German, English, and Arabic, taking advantage of their young, sponge-like minds that effortlessly absorb language. Listening to and imitating their mother tongue is a crucial cognitive task for them. Early exposure to additional languages fosters the formation of new neural connections in the brain, enhancing not only their proficiency in these languages but also strengthening their skills in their first language.
Early exposure to a second, third, or even fourth language makes learning effortless and natural for children. When introduced at a young age, these languages become an integral part of their communication, making future language acquisition easier and more intuitive. Additionally, early multilingual learning enhances cognitive abilities that boost overall learning skills, setting the foundation for lifelong success.
OBSERVATION,DOCUMENTATION AND ASSESSMENT

Observation and documentation are essential to our teachers’ success at KOMPASS. Each child’s development is meticulously recorded through observations, samples of their work, and relevant photographs, all compiled in a comprehensive development portfolio. This approach not only tracks progress but also highlights individual achievements and milestones.

The “Journey Book” at KOMPASS captures each child’s milestones from nursery through school, highlighting their unique progress. This development portfolio emphasizes individual growth through careful observations, comparing each child’s achievements to their past performance and aligning them with age and grade-level standards. This approach provides parents with a clear understanding of their child’s development.
INCLUSION - SPECIAL RIGHTS
The goal for all children is to emphasize the value of differences rather than the stigma associated with being different. It is proven that the inclusion of children with special needs is not only beneficial for the included children; the other children also experience that communities are diverse, with people who possess different skills and have different needs.
At KOMPASS, we warmly welcome a limited number of children with learning difficulties or special needs, as long as our programs can effectively support their development and safety. This may require that the child attends with an approved support teacher to ensure they receive the necessary assistance and guidance throughout their educational journey.
MEALS
We take pride in our in-house culinary team who provide three fresh, nutritious meals every day. Fresh fruits and/or vegetables are offered during breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack.
Like in a family, our teachers take their meals with the children. We consider our meals an extension of our curriculum. Teachers encourage the children to talk about the food that they are eating. These conversations provoke more awareness about food and table manners and encourage healthy choices as well as the culture of eating together.
